February Volunteer of the Month: Patricia Seidler

The Greater Bandon Association has named the February recipient of its Volunteer of the Month award. Patricia Seidler becomes the fourth winner of the second year of this award created in 2016. She was presented the award in the form of a plaque and a gift certificate from The Laurel at the February 6th, 2017 meeting of Bandon’s City Council.

Patricia arrived in Bandon in May of 2014. At 90 she immediately became involved with volunteering where she was needed. She volunteers at the Visitor Center, Southern Coos Hospital gift shop (for the Auxiliary), the Bandon Historical Museum, the State of Oregon SNAP program at the Bandon Farmers Market, Port Offices ( keeping their scrap book up to date), and E.A.T.. Patricia is also Jr. Vice President of the VFW Auxiliary 3440 and is employed by Sunset Motel as their breakfast hostess 4 days a week.

Patricia just celebrated her 93rd birthday this month and doesn’t plan on slowing down “ever”. Her secret to life is keep moving, give back to your community, and be happy!

Patricia’s impact on the Bandon community is incredible and we are so thankful to have her as an active volunteer in our little city!

The Greater Bandon Association will be honoring one of Bandon’s many volunteers that are making a difference in the community each month. Nominations for the March award should be e-mailed to dana@greaterbandon.org or mailed to P.O. Box 161 by close of business on February, 24th.
