The Greater Bandon Association has named the May recipient of its Volunteer of the Month award. Bill Stenberg and Susan Ryan become the seventh winners of the second year of this award created in 2016. Bill and Susan were presented the award in the form of a plaque and a gift certificate from Lord Bennett’s at the May 1st, 2017 meeting of Bandon’s City Council.
Bill and Susan are somewhat new to Bandon, but it didn’t take them long to find opportunities in the community to volunteer for. Susan has volunteered with the Good Earth Community Garden, serving as the Board President and is also Treasurer for Shoreline Education for Awareness. Bill is active at Free Flight Bird Rehabilitation and Education, serves on the Bandon Community Youth Center Board, and is also the Vice President for Shoreline Education for Awareness. Both Bill and Susan volunteer together for the Whale Watch program and were star volunteers at this year’s Gorse Blossom Festival.
Bill & Susan bring joy wherever they go and their passion for making our community a better places inspires us. Thank you for all you do, Bill and Susan!
The Greater Bandon Association will be honoring one of Bandon’s many volunteers that are making a difference in the community each month. Nominations for the June award should be e-mailed to dana@greaterbandon.org or mailed to P.O. Box 161 by close of business on May 26th.
